Job Description

CACI is seeking a stellar Systems Administrator to support our program in Laurel, MD.

What You’ll Get to Do:The Sponsor requires a small team of Contractors to provide a combination of Systems Engineering and System Administration to support a mission critical, enterprise system. The project implements agile development, using a suite of Open Source technologies, micro-services architecture, and geospatial capabilities to solve hard technical challenges in a high availability environment. The project requires a System Engineer to support the product management team with analysis and documentation of system level interfaces, as well as a Systems Administrator to help design, architect and maintain enterprise solutions as the project continues to evolve.

More About the Role:

The Contractor team shall work closely with the Sponsor on all Contractor activities and efforts. In particular, the Contractor shall be responsible for carrying-out the following functions and duties. The selected candidates will be members of a dynamic team to help design, develop and support operations of an enterprise application with a diverse group of technical users and interfaces to other systems and applications. They will directly work with a team of systems engineers, network administrators, developers and other project personnel to ensure that the implementation of the application and surrounding infrastructure meets stakeholder and user requirements and high availability operational needs. The Systems Engineer will attend various meetings with senior management, stakeholders and customers and be responsible for capturing requirements for the project roadmap and developing into user stories for development. The Systems Administrator will work across the team to understand requirements and adapt the enterprise system to meet customer needs and solve hard technical challenges.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS SCI with polygraph clearance

  • Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer providing requirements and system interface analysis for enterprise scale development project

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining interface control documents between components in an enterprise operational system

  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with development team and stakeholders on intent of the requirements and user stories

  • Demonstrated experience translating user requirements into agile sprint stories and defining acceptance criteria that is achievable in a single development sprint

  • Demonstrated experience with agile project management methodologies, including experience managing product backlogs

  • Demonstrated experience with the security accreditation process to achieve system approval to operate

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Cisco-based networks, including Cisco ASR series routers and Cisco 5500 series firewalls.

  • Demonstrated experience assessing loads and developing tuning recommendations as related to performance, scalability, and high availability.

  • Demonstrated experience administering a medium to large sized virtualized infrastructure in a production environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with Linux based operating systems

  • Demonstrated experience with agile development practices.

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to include document preparation and configuration management.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated experience with requirements management on a program interacting with and supporting multiple Sponsor partners and/or customers

  • Demonstrated experience as a scrum master on a project that includes web application and enterprise middleware development

  • Demonstrated experience with the XACTA security accreditation tool

  • Demonstrated experience working in a self-directed manner as part of a medium size agile software development team

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and working with others to achieve system security accreditation.

  • Demonstrated experience working in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure environment providing network systems support in the development, testing, deployment and operation of enterprise class systems.

  • Demonstrated experience with understanding of current and futures technology trends.

  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps (i.e., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
