Applied Physics Laboratory Senior Program Control Analyst in Laurel, Maryland

We are seeking a hardworking Senior Program Control Analyst to provide cradle to grave project financial support to APL Space Programs and Grants.

As a Senior Program Control Analyst you will...

Have the financial responsibility of managing the funding and costs for space projects. This includes monitoring, analyzing, and interacting with PM's and customers on the financial status of space projects.

Provide support for a variety of program administrative functions including financial oral presentations, working with Contracts Administrators on contractual/funding issues, preparing financial forecasts, preparing documentation in response to customer inquiries, and supporting general business issues.

Use APL’s internal Planning Estimating and Enterprise Resource software in conjunction with Excel, to provide analysis of actual and projected costs. Your involvement will be to provide ad-hoc reporting and support customer briefings as required as well as prepare monthly financial reports.

Become involved in proposal pricing, lead proposal creation and development as well as assist Program Managers (PM's) in the understanding of solicitation requirements. We will rely on you to assist with the resource and procurement planning activities in the development of a proposal package. This will include working with Laboratory procurement organizations to acquire a sufficient basis of estimates to support material and subcontract cost estimates. The role includes analyzing and utilizing cost history as applicable and supporting the government and commercial business activities as required. In the end, we see you owning the estimating and final cost proposal submission.


You meet our minimum qualifications if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
  • 20 years of related professional experience in Financial Administration
  • Solid experience with CPFF, FFP, and T&M contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated self-starter, capable of independent operations and attention to detail
  • Solid experience and proficiency in MS Excel

You'll go above and beyond our requirements if you have...

  • Knowledge of FAR, CAS and federal pricing practices
  • Experience with proposal preparation and financial reporting software
  • Ability and interest in getting a security clearance
