Medifast, Inc. Blending Team Lead in Owings Mills, Maryland
Under the direction of the Blending Manager, the Blending Lead will direct and aid a team to manufacture a variety of dry powders within set specifications to be used by a wide variety of external customers in the food industry. The Blending Lead is responsible for the quality of blends, accurate completion of all paper work, sanitation of blender and blending area, meeting all sample analysis requirements, assigning tasks to team personnel, aiding with departmental audits, and completing small projects when necessary. This position also performs packaging job duties as required.
Following the Blending Schedule; provide all the raw materials components (SW, Bulks, Proportions, Conditions) to the Blending Operators on their corresponding workstations on a timely manner.
Stage all the finished powder sacks in the designated staging areas following the food safety and allergen rules.
Verify all the paperwork prior to handle it to the Blending Operator for a completion and accuracy; including QA approval.
Will be able to cover a Blending position in the absence of a Blending Operator.
Assist the Supervisor to directs the daily operations of the Blending department. Provide direction and leadership in their department and shift.
Assigns and monitors breaks and time keeping.
Communicates and works together with QA to maintain all standards and practices of the food industry in accordance with FDA and State regulations
Help the Supervisor in developing improved methods and techniques to show continuous process improvement.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times to prevent cross contamination and build up
Comply and adhere to all GMP’s and HAACP’s policies
Assign tasks to the other team members taking in account the priorities of the packaging lines
Aid in a formalized training program by helping other employees learn on new equipment
Aid in weekly and monthly audits concerning small weights verification, allergen organization, and tool accountability and sanitation
Keep the Supervisor informed of any deviations throughout the day
Make informed decisions for the team when a Supervisor is not present

Able to use calculator and other measurement instruments
Basic computer skills.
Forklift operating experience is a must.
