Senior Technical Professional - Software Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

KBR is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Analyst in Patuxent River, MD, to assist the U.S. Navy in supporting the E-2 Software Support Activity (SSA). The Senior Program Analyst will be responsible for: maintaining and updating lab equipment and services (infrastructure), supporting system administration tasks for lab networked applications (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), participating in Configuration Control Boards, Software Engineering Change Requests, Requirements Reviews, Software Test and Verification Events, Formal Qualification Tests (FQTs) and approving Change Requests (CRs) into the DOORS software baseline.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science plus five years of experience. In lieu of a degree, experience will be accepted. Must have related experience, to include experience in developing DoD systems acquisition requirements, documentation development, or coordinating technical, test or contract requirements as related to software development and life cycle management as specified in the DoD 5000 series is required;

Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A current Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 6 years is required.

Demonstrated experience in providing program/project status, earned value management and schedules. Experience with Military Interdepartmental Procurement Requests, Work Requests, Requisitions, and DD254s;

Experience with Tactical Data Link 16 required; Proficiency with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirement System (DOORS), Linux, and Jira required; Experience with C++, ADA, and structured programming desired.

Ability to prepare programmatic, operational and technical documentation; Possess knowledge of cybersecurity policies, requirements and impacts; Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to mentor and assign tasks to software lab staff;

Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer–based productivity applications;

Travel as needed to support customer objectives and requirements;

Preferred Skills:

Experience with E-2 Hawkeye Aircraft or similar Naval Aviation Platform;

At least Five (5) years of experience with software Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V);

Cisco Certification Network Associate desired;
