Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Content and Digital Specialist will serve as a key member of the LIRS Communications and Marketing Team and will be responsible for developing and implementing creative digital marketing strategies through web content management, tracking metrics, managing organization wide e-mails, social media, video, graphic design, paid media, search engine optimization, and more. They will work across the organization to design and support communications-related projects and events and support the communications and marketing department.

Duties:

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for managing all social media accounts for LIRS, as well as for our President & CEO, which includes developing content, graphics and video as needed

  • Develops and executes on a proactive, weekly social media calendar for LIRS and the President/CEO's social media accounts

  • Assists in writing, creating, editing, delivering, and optimizing a range of communications materials including op-eds, blogs, and various external-facing materials

  • Responsible for coordination and oversight of department and President's Office-led events (many of which are currently virtual), including logistics, run of show, event marketing, and relevant content

  • Responsible for drafting, designing, scheduling, and sending event-related e-blasts

  • Manages LIRS email lists, including related consolidation and organization of lists

  • Works collaboratively to conceptualize and advance e-mail, social media, and various digital advertising campaigns and initiatives that support LIRS's organizational mission and strategic objectives, with an emphasis on heightening awareness of LIRS programs

  • Tracks and provides updates on social media, digital, and web-based metrics

  • Monitors digital media trends and helps to brainstorm strategies to advance online performance; establishes and reports on benchmarks to measure engagement with/impact of LIRS communications efforts

  • Grows and cultivates LIRS's online community through innovative digital marketing strategies

  • Brings new ideas, tools, technologies, and insights to the Communications and Marketing Team

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

  • Three to Four years related experience in marketing/communications, digital media, online communications, or a related field

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to develop messaging and deliver information in a compelling manner

  • Demonstrated knowledge of online marketing and communications strategies and tactics, digital trends, and technologies

  • Experience in tracking and analyzing media metrics

  • Experience in web management/web development including WordPress; knowledge of basic HTML; proficiency in web content development, software, and standards

  • Experience with content management systems and web platforms (preferably MailChimp, Luminate, WordPress), search engine optimization, Google Analytics, and graphic design applications, such as Adobe InDesign, Canva

  • Background of leading and/or overseeing graphic design projects

  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
