EngiSys Business Development Manager in Rockville, Maryland

Overview of Job Function: Drive business results by proactively identifying prospective clients, discovering and developing opportunities and consistently meeting sales goals.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales quota by identifying business primarily through prospecting, cold calling, partner engagement, business development, internal collaboration, and marketing strategies.

  • Conduct effective discovery sessions/sales presentations to prospective customer management.

  • Develop and implement effective lead generation, inbound marketing, SEO, SEM and SMM strategies.

  • Maintain a thorough on-going knowledge of new and emerging modern data engineering technologies, as well as industry trends.

  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

  • Assist in drafting, posting and managing original content on social media relevant to the data engineering and analytics industry to build brand identity for the company.

  • Develop and implement federal, state and local sales strategies, including establishing effective contract vehicles and vendor list inclusion.

  • Maintain effective relationships with established customers and develop strategies to maximize revenue opportunities through expansions.

  • Thoroughly assess the customer?s needs and present an appropriate sales solution.

  • Respond to RFP?s and other in-bound customer inquiries.

  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluate options; resolve internal priorities.

  • Provide ad hoc reports and perform assigned projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience selling consulting services, particularly complex data warehouse and/or data analytics solutions.

  • Strong selling and closing techniques with a proven history of high dollar sales success in consulting services.

  • Proven capability to successfully penetrate an organization by identifying the correct senior level organizational contacts.

  • Ability to leverage your own extensive personal network to create opportunities for the company.

  • Knowledge of emerging market needs in data engineering technologies and analytics.

  • Must have strong technical competency to understand and effectively communicate data driven solutions.

  • Creative problem solver with sound judgment and high degree of integrity.

  • Ability to work independently with little to no oversight while still meeting assigned goals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels

  • Ability to multitask in demanding customer environments

  • Willingness to travel throughout the U.S. as required
