Position Summary

With a bi-directional approach with the VP of Global Sales and the Marketing Manager, oversees and manages the marketing position and marketing strategies for BioTel Research. In addition, this role provides leadership and direction to the marketing and product/services development functions of the organization to ensure adequate and proactive support of the sales function. The Marketing Manager reports to the Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing and will manage the Marketing Coordinator as well as agency relationships.


  • Adhering to all Company Quality System Procedures, regulatory requirements and budget commitments

  • Develop, implement, and facilitate annual marketing plan and budget including:

  • Branding

  • Marketing Communications

  • Tradeshows, Seminars and Events

  • PR & Advertising

  • Service Launches

  • Lead Generation

  • Web sites and social media

  • Clear objectives and ROI measurement/reporting

  • Marketing Communications

  • Development of key messages and standards to communicate our brand identity, and ensure consistency

  • Collaborate closely with Agency(ies) to develop marketing media and materials

  • Write and proofread Marketing copy

  • Ensure web site(s) is up to date and its messaging is consistent with overall marketing objectives

  • With Agency support, supervise integration with social media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, blogs, etc.

  • Sales Support

  • Support Sales in planning and development of client presentations

  • Oversee management of and reporting from CRM system

  • Supervise RFI/RFP Writer and/or produce RFI/RFPs

  • Supervise new service launches, with cross-disciplinary support

  • Sales training

  • Market Research/Outreach

  • Gathering, analyzing and interpreting competitive market analysis data

  • Proactively monitor competitor, partner and client base activity

  • Network with industry thought leaders and other professionals responsible for delivering leads and market intelligence

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure proper messaging of company beliefs and service offering

  • Management Support

  • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to management teams

  • Ensure the integration of the marketing function within the organization

  • Develop effective and sustainable pricing strategies for services to be marketed, and maintain information for effective use by sales team


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

  • Masters in Marketing or related field preferred


  • 5-10 years of marketing/sales experience and success with expertise in solution sales and international markets


  • Demonstrated proactive marketing/sales leadership and innovation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Self-starter, highly motivated, works independently, uses effective analytical, organizational and time management techniques

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Understanding of the clinical trial process and the day-to-day operations of research service providers, particularly cardiac safety core labs

  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and CRM software
