The Role

The Senior Analyst, Finance Systems and Reporting will primarily be responsible for the administration of FP&A’s CPM application and its integrations with other systems (i.e. ERP, HRIS, Microsoft Excel), as well as for supporting consolidated planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. This role will also support system development projects and ad-hoc FP&A requests as needed. The ideal candidate will excel in the space where IT and Finance intersect, and will be a key contributor to the success of the FP&A team by driving excellence in the system infrastructure upon which virtually all FP&A activities are housed.

Expectations are for you to influence the organization through the development of tools for the FP&A organization, supporting and maintaining financial systems, and setting standards and processes to support all planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities across the company. You will be a key member of the team that navigates the company through various business cycles, initiatives, and enhancements to our systems and processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

CPM Systems Administration

  • Data Management / FP&A Operations Support

  • Create, maintain, and archive system Processes and Scenarios as necessary to support FP&A’s monthly planning and reporting cycle

  • Manage ETL processes and data feeds from upstream systems (i.e. monthly actuals), and validate data ties to the source of record

  • Maintain the system web front end interface, updating bookmarks to ensure end users are directed to the appropriate forms and parameters for the current planning cycle

  • Control timing and scope of read/write access for various end user groups in alignment with FP&A planning processes and data security standards

  • Establish and maintain Disaster Recovery protocols, including but not limited to periodically archiving database backups

  • Metadata Maintenance

  • Establish processes and controls to ensure CPM system metadata codes, labels, and structural hierarchies are kept up to date and in alignment with source systems of record

  • Maintain additional metadata hierarchies utilized in FP&A planning and reporting processes, and routinely engage with FP&A operations to validate and update as needed

  • Form Creation and Maintenance

  • Manage the library of standard forms available on the system server, including all data input forms and various standard output reports

  • Make modifications to existing forms, or create new forms, to ensure the tools are in place to support continually evolving business needs, planning processes, and reporting requirements

  • Promote greater self-service among FP&A users by providing training on ad-hoc reporting capabilities and best practices

  • Security and Compliance / User Management

  • Ensure compliance with User License Agreement by establishing resource allocation policy and monitoring utilization statistics

  • Ensure compliance with security standards by managing, validating, and tracking user account requests and access rights changes

  • Create and maintain user group categories and definitions to better command and control planning process workflows

  • Manage new user provision and documentation

  • Provide end users with training and customer support

  • Process Documentation – Maintain a repository of SOPs, and ensure critical processes are appropriately documented as they are developed

Consolidation & Reporting

  • Assist in the management of recurring planning processes, which include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the FP&A close and planning process calendar, considering key FP&A and management deadlines

  • Issue communications to keep key stakeholders informed and up to date with process instructions, guidance, and deadlines

  • Support consolidation processes such as running allocations, updating corporate adjustments, and tracking the deployment and remaining balance of management reserve funding

  • Assist with the production of consolidated financial presentations, partnering with FP&A Operations to understand financial variance drivers, and providing insightful analysis to the management team

  • Partner with Financial Operations teams (accounting, tax, treasury) to coordinate and align on cross-functional dependences, and to ensure consistency throughout financial statements

System Development / Ad-hoc Support

  • Collaborate with application developers to support system enhancement projects

  • Contribute subject matter expertise during technical design

  • Lead QA / acceptance testing procedures and documentation

  • Facilitate enhancement migrations to Production

  • Prepare or update SOP documentation

  • Provide technical support for audit / troubleshooting requests as needed

  • Provide analytical and modeling support for ad-hoc FP&A requests

The Person

  • Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency

  • Self-motivated, works well with limited supervision

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent years of experience

  • 3 to 5 years with related experience (systems administration, data management, process engineering, FP&A)

  • Prior experience managing and maintaining a multi-dimensional / OLAP financial planning system is preferred; SQL / MDX experience is a plus

  • Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting, and analysis methodologies and processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel
