What You Will Get To Do:

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a certified Scrum Master to join our team. Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementation of the Program Increment (PI)

  • Facilitating Scrum

  • Executing Iteration Planning

  • Assisting in shaping high performing Agile teams by being a servant leader and coach

  • Coaching teams to deliver the maximum business value at scale

In addition, the Scrum Master will have the opportunity to be a hands on software developer in numerous areas.

This position is located in Silver Spring, MD

What Program Will You Be Working On:

The Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) is a series of technologies that collects weather data, analyzes it, creates visualizations and distributes watches and warnings for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Weather Service.

AWIPS software engineers participate in all aspects of the software engineering lifecycle, to include: design of software components, developing code, updating technical documents, generating and executing test procedures, integration of software components, peer review of software artifacts, troubleshooting and resolution of discrepancy reports.

Our small agile teams adapt to evolving problem sets, and engineers benefit from a flexible work environment where engineers can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 year as a Scrum Master

  • Minimum 6 years of experience developing, testing, and delivering high quality software and systems

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following domains:

SAFe Scaled Agile Framework,

Agile/DevOps methods and tools,

Dev/Ops Team Interactions,

Software development with continuous integration and automated test frameworks

  • Proficiency in the Java computer programming language on a Linux platform

  • Proficiency in many of the following tools/processes: Automation (and associated tools), Eclipse, Redmine, Python, RedHat, QFtest, TestRail, Gerkin/Cucumber

  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like Eclipse

  • Experience with version control utilizing tools like GIT

Desired/Preferred Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product, and/or project management

  • Proficiency in all of the following tools/processes: Automation (and associated tools), Eclipse, Redmine, Python, RedHat, QFtest, TestRail

  • Certified SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master

  • Facilitation of cross-team interactions in support of program follow through and continued improvement.

  • Familiar with practical ways of addressing Agile and Scrum anti-patterns

  • Must be organized and able to prioritize task efforts

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Has a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and works well both alone as well as in a team setting

  • Experience working in an agile, collaborative environment to produce deliverable products

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services

  • Experience working with databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL in general)

  • Experience with continual integration and continual deployment tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, and Chef

  • Experience with Integration and Test / Automation (e.g. CI/CD, TDD) and tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Cucumber, Docker, Puppet, Chef)

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics.
