Responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction to the Sparrows Point slag grinding plant and ensuring sustainable performance aligned with business objectives, values and guiding behaviors while delivering on business results.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create a safety culture of "Zero by Choice".
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Lead the Sparrows Point team, ensure organizational alignment to business objectives, communicate and inspire, build trust and hold organization accountable for performance.
Proactively represent LafargeHolcim with the community, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Function as a driver for change management and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute plant and Capex improvement projects, deliver, project management and execution leadership.
Utilize performance management processes and tools to manage performance and development of direct reports and their teams; play an active role in development of future leaders.
Deliver on operational and cost results. Delivering high quality product at the lowest sustainable cost through operational excellence and high levels of equipment reliability.
Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality production.
Provides leadership and mentorship for the production and maintenance coordinators and supervisors. Manage teams for a high level of engagement.
Completes root-cause analysis on non-conformance and operational losses.
Helps ensure operation meets all environmental requirements, including fugitive dust emissions and controls.
Responsible for giving guidance on planning production schedules, optimizing equipment reliability and utilization, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
Helps ensure plant performance has been maximized by analyzing processes, trends and performance data.
Ensure effective troubleshooting of any problems in the department using direct reports and other departments as required.
Helps administer the union labor agreement.
Helps ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards (ASTM, CSA, MQO, internal targets and limits).
Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS
As the leader of the plant management team, he/she contributes to the overall performance improvement of the plant, ensuring coordination and cooperation between all departments.
Works closely with Sales, Group Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Group Trading, HSE& Functions to ensure delivery of the right quality products at the lowest possible cost.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or production efficiency
Required Work Experience: Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in an industrial production setting
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
Additional Requirements :
Understanding of general mechanical and electrical technology and equipment
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
Computer literacy
Proven skills in managing people
Results driven, self-motivated
Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while keeping excellent organizational skills
Strong communicator
Ability to work well in a team environment
