Danaher Corporation Master Electrician in Timonium, Maryland

Position Objective

The Master Electrician is a skilled operations associate within our Timonium, MD manufacturing facility and our Baltimore Distribution Center (BDC). Associates in this role possess skills to keep the building in compliance and problem solving through the root cause. A Master Electrician must be able to perform a variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to electrical and mechanical maintenance work such as: installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis, troubleshooting work on plant equipment, services and facilities requiring the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills. Work from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions. Upholding teamwork and the willingness to assist others on the maintenance team, production lines, is an expectation for this role. Master License electrician signature is required to keep our manufacturing facilities in compliance with federal and local codes.

Master Electrician have troubleshooting skills, and a focus on Environmental Health, Safety (EHS) and quality in all actions.

Job Functions

  • Read and understand the maintenance manuals for all machines and all areas within the two plants

  • Learn and follow standard work within maintenance facilities

  • Conduct Daily 5S activities

  • Follow instructions from maintenance team leads and operations leadership team members

  • Partner with team members, and train associates, as required

  • Follow quality standards for all equipment within maintenance facilities

  • Ensure safe work conditions and identify/improve environmental health and safety

  • Complete an hourly scorecard

  • Must be able to read and write statements and reports

  • Able to analyze, memorize and conduct and comprehend mathematical tasks

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical controls, wiring, and lighting systems

  • Read and can draw technical diagrams and blueprints daily

  • Perform and teach general electrical maintenance

  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices

  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures

  • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations

  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance

  • Ensure electrical safety procedures and guidelines for all codes are up to date and followed

  • Responsible for the electrical preventive maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master Electrician license

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a master electrician

  • High school diploma

  • Valid driver's license

  • Process orientated aptitude

  • Basic troubleshooting skills

  • PC skills are a plus

  • Able to become quality certified and self-inspect

  • Timely and consistent attendance is a must

  • Deep electrical system, PLC Programming, blueprints and electrical maintenance and repair knowledge.

  • Experience in renewable energy field.

  • Punctuality and reliability are key behavior attitudes and expectations for this role. Associates must be willing to work schedule, as well as any required overtime/holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push and pull for long periods of time.

  • Able to climb a ladder and flex the upper and lower body.
