  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in Business/Supply Chain or an Engineering discipline. A MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.

  • 5 years of global sourcing experience

  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities in new categories/business partner to enable growth in eCommerce

  • Must have a balance of both strategic and operational capacities; including global sourcing, supplier management, commodity risk management, etc.

  • Successful track record of designing and implementing complex sourcing and procurement strategies that achieved desired results within the category.

  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting and financial reporting

  • Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment

  • Strong listening, coaching and influencing skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; particularly at the management level

  • Influencing without direct authority

  • Ability to listen, engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.

  • Executive presence and effective presentation skills

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Ability to conceive strategic program initiatives, plan them, sell ideas and execute.

What You’ll Do

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Black & Decker Beyond within Global Supply Management (GSM) is focused on the effective and efficient procurement of Consumer and Tradesman Power Tools including Drilling, Grinding and Cutting tools, etc. across business units and regions in support of Stanley, Black & Decker’s 22/22 vision. In addition this role will lead the B+D Accelerator Expansion Category Strategy into new business opportunities to grow e:commerce. This role is responsible for defining, leading and monitoring holistic supplier strategies, developing category and procurement expertise and talent, and driving best practices across the business units and supply management. Given the global nature of category initiatives, the LCM: PTG Power Tools interacts with suppliers and colleagues arcoss geographies and work cultures. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Manage a Global Spend of $55-65M as part of a networked team in the PTG SBU.

  • Develop New Business categories for B+D Accelerator and e:commerce ‘source + sell’

  • Develop and source market intelligence

  • Ensure high degree of service delivery and SBU satisfaction

  • Consider unique/specific regional and SBU needs during category strategy development.

  • Understand and link category strategy with GSM priorities and SBU goals

  • Lead the supplier selection process through management of formal RFP, RFQ and RFI processes

  • Determine, oversee and perform the negotiation and contract management of large-scale, enterprise-wide volume purchase agreements

  • Partner with the SBUs to ensure they recognize the business value from the GSM team

  • Oversees the implementation of category strategies in support of the 22/22 vision and margin resiliency initiatives

  • Responsible for creation of TCO value to the organization through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc.

  • Maintain business relationships with strategic suppliers for Consumer and Tradesman Power Tools and serve as an escalation point to resolve supplier performance issues

  • Develop and foster strategic supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation

  • Implement strategic supplier management, supplier risk management, supplier diversity, and CSR programs within Consumer and Tradesman Power Tools (leveraging Global Supply Management’s Center of Excellence)

  • Institutionalize best-practice processes and policies and knowledge sharing within the Consumer and Tradesman Power Tools and ensure continuous improvement within the category.

  • Guarantee compliance with GSM policies and procedures and DoA requirements
