Program Manager Lead

job summary:

Contract position: Engineering client is looking for a Sr. Project Manager/Program Manager to manage a team of Project Managers who are supporting multiple electric Utility Transmission Line (OH & UG), Substation and Gas distribution construction projects in and around Baltimore, MD. Client is looking for candidates with 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager supporting T&D and related EPC projects. You need at least 3 years of experience managing & leading people. The client is looking for candidates that are looking for a long term (2+ years) commitment. Per diem provided to candidates not local. * pay commensurate with experience level *

responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for managing a team of Project Managers & Project Controls Specialists that are currently supporting & executing multiple, high voltage electric transmission line, substation, & gas distribution projects

  • You will also be the primary interface point between this team and the client for progress and performance reporting, contract change negotiation, proposals for new work and addressing any client concerns on performance

  • Ensure that the project review process and other quality control guidelines are followed

  • Consult and assist clients with concepts and designs of transmission lines & switchyard facility enhancements

  • Provide managerial direction and work assignments to telecommunication & network engineering project managers

  • Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff

  • Provide performance feedback to department managers for project team members as appropriate

  • Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients

  • Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities
